Tell the 118th Congress: Invest in Public Media
A new Congress has come to Washington, D.C. With more than 80 newly elected Members, changes to leadership, and shifting committee assignments, we have a fresh opportunity to tell the 118th Congress to invest in public media. Send your message now.
Members of Congress have not yet taken positions on Fiscal Year 2024 federal funding. Reaching every Member of Congress early and demonstrating the full force of public media’s grassroots support can encourage your lawmakers to prioritize funding when it’s considered later this year.

About Public Media Funding
Amounting to about $1.40 per American annually, federal funding for public media protects your access to your local public media stations and their essential public services. Investments in public media ensure that local stations reach nearly 99% of the U.S. population with local news service, educational resources, community outreach to help children succeed in school, lifesaving emergency alerts, and opportunities to connect communities on issues of importance. Among the last locally managed and controlled media organizations, there is no other service like public media. Continued, robust federal funding is the only way to preserve this public service.
