Ask Your Lawmakers to ‘Go on the Record’

Go on the Record

In reaction to the President’s budget proposal to cut public media funding, hundreds of thousands of communications were sent to Congress and the Administration in support of public media funding. Thank you for making your voice heard!

Your outreach inspired a few Members of Congress to circulate letters in support of continued public media funding in the House and Senate. These Members are asking every lawmaker to sign on as a way of publicly affirming that they value public media funding.

Please ask your lawmakers to ‘go on the record’ with their support for public media funding by signing the letters.

It’s essential that we collect as many signatures as possible to demonstrate that public media funding has broad support in Congress.

Moreover, this is a critical moment that will affect public media funding levels. Congress is still working to finalize Fiscal Year (FY) 2018 funding levels for all government programs, including public media funding. Shortly thereafter, Congress will begin working on FY 2019 funding.

The more signatures we collect on these letters, the better position public media will be in for these upcoming congressional funding debates.

We could not have gotten to this point without you, but our work is not over. We must continue to advance public media funding in Congress. You can help by emailing your lawmakers today and asking them to sign the letters.

Thank you for continuing to stand up for your stations and their essential work to inform, educate and inspire communities.
